K-HR
Check in and out with location, offline or missed
Employees press Check in when they arrive and Check out when they leave. The location is read only at that moment, and only if they tick the consent box.

What you need
- An employee record linked to your sign-in
- A phone or computer with a browser
- Location permission for hr.khanals.in in the browser (asked once)
- For offline punches: open K-HR once on that phone while online
Check in and check out
- Open K-HR and tap Punch at the bottom (or Me → Check in / out).
- Read the consent text and tick Send my location with this check-in or check-out.
- Allow location when the phone asks.
- Press Check in when you arrive.
- Press Check out when you leave.
- See your times under Your last punches, or open My attendance.
Punch with no signal
- Press Check in or Check out as usual, or open Offline mode.
- Keep the phone. The punch is saved on it with the time you pressed.
- Open K-HR again when the network returns. The punch is sent and marked "recorded offline".
Ask for a missed punch
- Open Me → Missed punch.
- Choose the Day (within the last 60 days).
- Type the Check-in time (HH:MM), the Check-out time (HH:MM), or both.
- Type Why, for example "Phone battery died; at site all day".
- Click Ask for approval. Your manager or HR approves it under Approvals.
Set the location rules (HR manager or admin)
- Open the user menu → Settings.
- Under Check-in outside the geofence, choose Allow it and mark it for HR or Refuse it.
- Tick Location to refuse a punch without a location, or leave it to record it as "no location".
- Choose what A day with a check-in and no check-out counts as.
- Save the settings.
- Each day, open Team → Who's in and look at punches marked outside fence, no location, weak GPS or recorded offline.
Good to know
- The position is what the phone reports and can be faked. The geofence flags punches for HR; it does not prove where someone was.
- An offline punch more than 7 days old, or more than 5 minutes in the future, is not accepted.
- Positions are deleted after 13 months by default (Settings → Keep check-in positions for (months)). The punch time stays.
- Nobody can approve their own missed punch.
Common errors
"HR has no employee record linked to your Khanal ID yet, so attendance cannot be recorded."
Ask HR to add you with the same e-mail you sign in with, or to send you the invitation from your employee record.
"You are outside your office or site ..., and your organisation does not allow check-in from outside."
Move inside the office or site and try again. If you work elsewhere today, use Missed punch.
"Your organisation needs your location with each check-in and check-out."
Tick the location box and allow location for hr.khanals.in in the browser settings, then try again. If it still fails, ask for a missed punch.
"This punch was saved offline more than 7 days ago."
The saved punch is too old to use. Ask for a missed punch for that day.
"The phone's clock is ahead of the real time, so this offline punch cannot be used."
Set the phone's date and time to automatic, then ask for a missed punch for that day.
"Choose a day in the last 60 days."
A missed punch can be asked only for the last 60 days. For older days, ask HR.
