What you need
- A Khanal ID with a verified e-mail and two-step verification switched on
- Your company's legal name, as on the work order
- The details of one running project: name, a short code, client, dates and contract value
- Optional: the BOQ in Excel, saved as a CSV file
Create your organisation
- Open https://projects.khanals.in/ on a computer.
- Sign in with your Khanal ID and your authenticator code.
- On Set up K-Projects, check the company details filled in from your Khanal ID.
- Type the Organisation name, for example ABC Infra.
- Type the Legal company name (as on the work order), for example ABC Infra Private Limited.
- Choose the Time zone. It decides which day a DPR belongs to.
- Click Start free trial. Your 14-day trial starts and the dashboard opens.
Create your first project
- Click Projects in the left menu.
- Click New project.
- Choose the Project type: Contract if you execute works for a client, or Own development for your own project. You cannot change it later.
- Type the Project name and a short Project code, for example ABC-RNC-01.
- For a contract, type the Client and the Contract value (contract) without GST. For own development, type the Owner entity.
- Add the location, start date and planned finish.
- Click Create project.
Add the BOQ (contract projects)
- Open the project and click the BOQ tab.
- Click Download template to see the columns: Description, Quantity and Rate are needed; Item no, Unit and Amount are read too.
- In Excel, click File → Save As and choose CSV UTF-8.
- Under Import from Excel (CSV), choose the file and click Import.
- If a row is wrong, read the message: it names the row. Fix it and import again, or tick Import the good rows and skip the bad ones.
Plan the work
- Click the Schedule tab.
- Add each activity with its WBS code, planned start and finish, weight and how progress is measured, then click Add activity.
- Add milestones with their due dates and click Add milestone.
- Invite your team next (see Team and roles).
Good to know
- An own development project gets a Budget tab instead of BOQ, measurement book and RA abstracts. Add phases on Schedule, then budget heads on Budget.
- On a phone, add K-Projects to the home screen from the browser menu. It opens on Today on site.
- A contract won in K-Tender, a deal won in K-CRM or an approved BOQ in K-Survey can create the project for you. See Links to other apps.
