Write the daily progress report (DPR) on site, even without signal

The DPR records one day on one project. Site engineers write it on the phone through the day. When there is no signal, you can fill it offline and it is sent when the phone is online again.

What you need

  • The Site engineer or Project manager role, and a place on the project's team
  • A project in Planning or Active status with a schedule of activities
  • A phone with a camera; signal is needed at least once before you go offline

Start today's DPR

  1. Open K-Projects on your phone. It opens on Today on site.
  2. Find your project and tap Start today's DPR.
  3. Choose the Weather at site and tap Start DPR.

Add the day's work

  1. Under Work done, choose the Activity, type the Quantity or % done today and where (chainage, grid, floor). Tap Add work.
  2. Under Manpower, choose the trade, type the contractor or gang and the number of workers. Tap Add.
  3. Under Machinery, choose the machine and type the units and hours worked. Tap Add.
  4. If work stopped, choose the Cause, write What happened and the Hours lost. Tap Add hindrance.
  5. Type notes such as cubes cast, visits or instructions received, and tap Save notes.

Add photos

  1. Under Photos, choose or take up to 10 photos at a time.
  2. Type a Caption (for these photos), for example Shuttering of slab, 2nd floor.
  3. Optional: tap Add GPS location. Your phone asks first.
  4. Tap Upload photos. The time each photo was taken is kept.

Fill the DPR without signal

  1. While you still have signal, open Today on site and tap Fill offline once. The phone keeps your projects, activities and the dates you may report.
  2. On site without signal, open Fill offline again (or the installed app) and tap New report.
  3. Choose the project and date, then add work, manpower, machinery, hindrances, notes and photos. Tick Add my location to the next photos if you want GPS on them.
  4. Tap Send when online. The report moves to Waiting to send.
  5. When signal returns, the phone sends it by itself, or tap Send now. A sent report shows Open the DPR.

Print or correct a DPR

  1. Open the project's DPR tab and choose the date.
  2. Click Print for the paper copy for the site file.
  3. To change a past day, ask a project manager to open the DPR, type a Reason and click Reopen. It is then open for changes today only.

Good to know

  • A DPR can be changed only on its own day. After midnight it is locked.
  • A project manager can write a DPR for a missed day with DPR for an earlier day, giving the reason in Why late. It is logged in the audit trail.
  • A hindrance stays open on the dashboard until someone marks it resolved.
  • Signing out on a shared phone removes its offline reports. You are asked first if any are unsent.

Common errors

"This DPR is locked: a DPR can be changed only on its own day. A project manager can reopen it for today."

Ask your project manager to reopen that DPR with a reason. Then make your change the same day.

"Only a project manager can create a DPR for an earlier day."

Ask your project manager to start the DPR for that date. Once started, you can add the lines today.

An offline report is under Needs attention

The server refused it and shows the reason, for example the day is locked. Ask the manager to reopen the day, tap Edit, then Send again. Nothing is posted twice.

"Sign in to send. Reports stay on this phone until then."

Your session ended. Tap Sign in. The report waits on the phone and is sent after you sign in.

"No project data on this phone yet. Open this page once with signal while signed in."

Open Fill offline once while you have signal and are signed in, before you go to a site without signal.

"Choose an activity of this project (work is recorded on the lowest level of the schedule)."

Choose a child activity, not a parent group. Ask your manager to add the activity to the schedule if it is missing.
