  • The supplier (import) or buyer (export) name
  • B/L or AWB details and container numbers, when you have them

  1. Open Imports or Exports.
  2. Click New import or New export.
  3. Type the Commercial invoice no., Invoice date and the Supplier or Buyer.
  4. Choose the Incoterm and Mode, and fill the ports, carrier, B/L or AWB, forwarder and Customs broker (CHA).
  5. Type ETD, ETA and Free days at port.

Good to know

  • Import milestones: Order placed, Ready at supplier, Shipped (departed), In transit, Arrived at port, Customs filed (BE), Duty paid, Out of charge, Delivery order, Dispatched to site, Delivered. You can skip steps but never go back.
  • The last free day is worked out with the arrival day as day 1; demurrage starts the day after.
  • Use Container look-up to find any container by its number or part of it.
  • Container numbers are checked with the ISO 6346 check digit. If a correct number fails, tick the override.

Common errors

"Container ... fails the ISO 6346 check"

Check the number against the B/L. If it is right as typed, tick the override for that container and save.

"The supplier is required." or "The buyer is required."

Imports need a supplier and exports a buyer. Type the name and save again.

"Status not changed: ..." about dates

The milestone date must fit the record's other dates, for example arrival after departure. Correct the date or the record, then try again.

"Choose an Incoterm from the list."

Pick one of EXW, FCA, FOB, CFR, CIF, CPT, CIP, DAP, DPU or DDP, or leave it empty.
