- K-Secretarial is a compliance workspace for practising CS firms and in-house company secretaries: compliance tracker, meetings and minutes, statutory registers, an MCA updates feed, client requests and DSC tracking.
- K-IPO is a working desk for companies and advisers preparing for an SME IPO on BSE SME or NSE Emerge: workstreams, documents and open items.
- Both run inside the same application and sign-in as K-Finance, with documents in your own Google Drive or OneDrive.
Same people, same documents
In a mid-sized Indian company, the CS who tracks AOC-4 and MGT-7 is often the same person collecting board minutes for an IPO due-diligence request. The CFO who closes the books also restates them for the offer document. When compliance sits in one tool, books in another and IPO preparation in a set of shared folders, the same document is chased three times. K-Secretarial and K-IPO sit next to K-Finance in one application, with one Khanal ID sign-in and the same organisation separation.
K-Secretarial for CS teams
- Compliance tracker: due dates and status for recurring company-law filings across every company you manage.
- Meetings and minutes: board and general meetings, agendas and minutes.
- Statutory registers, maintained alongside the compliance calendar, including shareholding.
- MCA updates feed: regulatory notifications surfaced inside the workspace.
- Requests and DSC: client requests and digital-signature-certificate tracking.
- Document vault in your drive: files go to your organisation's own Google Drive or OneDrive (folder 02 - K-Secretarial, one sub-folder per company), not to our server.
K-Secretarial does not file on the MCA portal. It tracks what is due, prepares meeting documents and keeps registers; filing on MCA V3 stays with your DSC and your team.
Free tools for the same work
The ROC annual compliance calendar lists due dates by company type, the board meeting and AGM checker tests notice periods and gaps, and the resolution and MGT-14 finder tells you which resolutions need filing. Recent rule changes: DIR-3 KYC is now once every three years.
K-IPO for SME IPO readiness
An SME IPO is a project with many owners: the promoters, the CFO, the CS, the auditors, the legal advisers and the merchant banker. Most delays come from open items that sit with someone for weeks without anyone noticing.
- Readiness workstreams: the finance, secretarial and legal workstreams a listing requires, such as restated financials, secretarial clean-up, legal due diligence and offer document inputs.
- Document uploads: the documents each workstream needs, with status, kept in your own drive (folder 03 - K-IPO).
- Open-item tracking: what is outstanding, who owns it and what it is blocking.
- Chapter check: the free plan checks one DRHP chapter, with a read-only report.
Each company's IPO workspace is a separate organisation, and advisers are invited per company. K-IPO is built around the BSE SME and NSE Emerge process. It does not replace the merchant banker, auditors or lawyers; they remain responsible for their work. K-IPO is the desk where everyone sees the same list.
Before you start
Check eligibility first. The free SME IPO eligibility checker covers both platforms' published criteria, and SME IPO eligibility 2026: BSE SME vs NSE Emerge explains the tests. SEBI's October 2026 consultation paper proposes changes that are not yet law; see what it proposes. A free eight-lesson SME IPO readiness course covers the process end to end.
Why it helps to have them together
- One sign-in. K-Finance, K-Secretarial and K-IPO share the Khanal ID login. Office users must set up two-step verification before any app opens, which matters when advisers outside the company are invited.
- One company record. The company and its team are created once in Khanal ID and picked up by each app; K-Secretarial and K-IPO figures appear on the owner dashboard.
- One drive. Books, registers and IPO documents file into the same numbered folder tree in your own Google Drive or OneDrive through connected storage.
- Email signatures too. The CS Firm bundle adds K-MailSign licences, so a practice's emails carry correct, consistent details. See email signature vs e-signature.
For practising CS firms
A CS firm managing many client companies needs one view of every due date and a clean separation between clients. In K-Secretarial each client company is tracked in the compliance tracker, and documents sit in one sub-folder per company in the firm's own drive. The CS Firm bundle combines K-Secretarial, K-Finance and K-MailSign licences with connected storage; plans and limits are on the pricing page.
A month in practice
For an in-house CS preparing for a listing, a month might look like this (an illustration, not a customer story). The compliance tracker shows the filings due across group companies with their status, and supporting documents go into each company's folder in your drive. Board meeting agendas and minutes are prepared in K-Secretarial and the registers updated alongside. In K-IPO, the open-items list shows that the restated financials are waiting on the auditor and that two property title documents are missing for legal due diligence; each item has an owner and shows what it blocks. The CFO sees the same list from K-Finance's sign-in, and the owner sees K-Secretarial and K-IPO figures on the owner dashboard.
Is it a fit?
Both products are in beta and changing as early users ask for things. If your CS work is a handful of companies and a calendar works well for you, the free calculators may be all you need. If you track dozens of companies, or you are a year away from an SME listing with many advisers involved, a shared desk can save real time. AI features are not part of K-Finance, K-Secretarial or K-IPO.
