Track due dates and record filings with their SRN
The compliance tracker lists every filing across your companies, with its due date and the rule behind it. This guide shows how to work through it and close filings with evidence.
Last updated
What you need
- At least one company with its calendar built
- The Accountant role or higher to change items
- The SRN or acknowledgement number of each filing you mark as filed
- A Drive folder for the company, if you want to upload proof
See what is due
- Open Compliance tracker in the left menu.
- Choose a view in the first list, for example Overdue, Due in 7 days or Waiting for client.
- Narrow the list by company, law, assignee or dates, or type in Search form, company, SRN.
- Click Assigned to me on the Dashboard to see only your own items.
Record a filing
- Click Update next to the item.
- Set Status to Filed / submitted (SRN).
- Enter the Filed on date and the SRN / acknowledgement no.
- If there is no SRN, type the reason under No SRN? Say why, for example a physical filing at the ROC.
- Click Upload proof to Drive… and choose the challan or acknowledgement, or paste a Drive link in the proof field.
- Click Save.
Add a filing that comes from an event
- Click + Event filing.
- Choose the Company and the Event, for example a director appointment for DIR-12.
- Enter the Date of the event.
- Click Add. The due date is worked out for you.
- Click + Custom item instead for work that has no rule in the app.
Update many items at once
- Tick the items in the tracker.
- Choose a status in Set status… or a person in Assign to….
- Click Apply. Items without an SRN stay open and the message tells you how many.
Good to know
- Items marked verify rest on a point not yet settled. Check the due date on the MCA or exchange portal before you file.
- If you change a due date by hand, the app asks why and keeps your date when the calendar is rebuilt. Use Back to the rule date to undo it.
- Use Calendar (.ics) to put the due dates in Google Calendar or Outlook.
- The tracker is a working tool, not legal advice. Nothing is filed for you.
Common errors
"Enter the SRN / acknowledgement number of the submission, or record why there is none"
A statutory filing can be marked filed only with an SRN or a reason of at least 5 characters. Fill one of the two and save again.
"Your organisation requires approval before a filing is marked filed"
Your organisation uses the review step. Prepare, check and approve the item in Review queue first, then mark it filed.
"The filing date cannot be in the future"
Enter the date the filing was actually made, today or earlier.
"Say why the due date differs from the rule"
You changed a generated due date. Type the reason, for example an MCA extension circular, and save.
