What you need

  • A Khanal ID (the same sign-in you use for other Khanal apps)
  • Your company’s legal name, PAN, TAN and CIN
  • Every GSTIN the company holds (one per state)
  • The month your financial year starts (usually April)

  1. Open https://finance.khanals.in/.
  2. Sign in with your Khanal ID when the Khanal ID page opens. K-Finance has no separate password of its own when single sign-on is on.
  3. Check the organisation name at the top. If your Khanal ID organisation already exists, K-Finance opens it. If not, a new organisation is made in your name.
  4. If you see the banner This is a personal workspace., type your organisation name (for example ABC Infra Private Limited) and click Make it an organisation. Your data stays as it is.

Add your company

  1. Open Overview. The card Set up this workspace lists the first four jobs.
  2. Click Add your entity. This opens Settings → Entities.
  3. Type the Short name (for example ABC Infra) and the Legal name (ABC Infra Private Limited).
  4. Type the PAN, TAN and CIN.
  5. Type every GSTIN in GSTINs, separated by commas or spaces.
  6. Choose the month in Financial year starts and click Add.

Generate the due-date calendar

  1. Go back to Overview and click Generate the statutory calendar.
  2. Click Generate calendar. K-Finance lists GST, TDS, advance tax, PF, ESIC and MCA dates for your entities under Compliance calendar.
  3. Click Turn on two-step verification on the same card. It opens Settings → Security. Do this before you import any bank data.

Make your first real record

  1. Ask an owner or admin to add a numbering series in Settings → Invoicing & numbering (see Raise invoices and record bills).
  2. Click New invoice in the left menu under Money.
  3. Choose the customer, add one line and click Save draft. You can issue it when you are ready.

Good to know

  • An entity is one legal company. One organisation can hold several entities, up to your plan’s limit.
  • Moving from Tally? Add the entity first, then use the Migration center. See Move your books from Tally.
  • K-Secretarial and K-IPO open from the same sign-in. They have their own guides: K-Secretarial and K-IPO.

Common errors

"Sign in with your Khanal ID at …" when I try the old K-Finance sign-in

Single sign-on is on, so the K-Finance password form is closed. Use the Khanal ID page it points to. See Sign in and two-step verification.

"Select or create a workspace first."

Your Khanal ID is not a member of any K-Finance organisation yet. Ask the owner to add you under Settings → Team & roles with the same e-mail, then sign in again.

"You have used 1 of 1 — Entities on the Free plan."

The Free plan holds one company. Use the existing entity, or move to a paid plan on Plan & usage. See Plans and limits.
