Good to know

  • Sign-in is through Khanal ID with two-step verification for office staff. Field staff use a PIN on their own phone. An office session ends after 7 days, or after 12 hours without use; a field session after 12 hours, or 4 hours without use.
  • Each organisation is kept apart. A site engineer sees only the projects they are on. Contractor bank account numbers are stored encrypted and shown masked.
  • Records are kept in a database on Khanal Group servers in India. Files and photos are in private storage on those servers until you connect your own Google Drive or OneDrive in Connected storage; new files then go to your drive. Photo location and camera details are removed from files when stored.
  • The audit log records every create, change and delete as a hash chain, so a removed or altered entry shows. More: Security.

Common errors

How do I delete our data?

Export what you need first, then write from your account e-mail to hello@khanals.in. See Export or delete your data.

Are files in our own drive in Khanal backups?

No. Your drive keeps them. Files kept on Khanal servers are in the nightly encrypted backup, kept up to 12 months.

Does K-Projects use AI on our data?

Only if an Organisation admin switches on-server AI drafts on in Settings. The model runs on our own server in India, and drafts change nothing by themselves.

Can a site engineer see other projects?

No. They see only projects where a manager added them on the project's Team tab.

Still stuck?

Email hello@khanals.in with the app name, what you clicked and the exact message you saw. Do not send passwords, PINs or authenticator codes. You can also use the contact page.
