Drive Connect

Security and privacy in Drive Connect

Drive Connect asks for the least access it can. Your files stay in your drive; Khanal Group keeps only the details the apps need.

What you need

  • A Khanal ID with two-step verification
  • Administrator rights in the storage organisation

Remove Khanal Group's access

  1. Open your organisation's storage page.
  2. Click Disconnect and confirm. For Google Drive the access token is revoked.
  3. For OneDrive, also remove the app on Microsoft's side (account.live.com/consent/Manage or myapps.microsoft.com).

Ask for deletion

  1. Write from your account email to hello@khanals.in.
  2. Files in your drive stay there under your control; delete them in the drive if you want.

Good to know

  • Sign-in is through Khanal ID with two-step verification.
  • Google: Khanal Group can open only the files it created or that you pick (drive.file). OneDrive: only its own folder, Apps/Khanal Group (Files.ReadWrite.AppFolder).
  • Khanal Group stores folder ids and document details (names, types, checksums, which record a file belongs to) on its servers in India, never the files. Google and Microsoft tokens are stored encrypted and never sent to your browser.
  • Backups on our server hold the registry only, nightly and encrypted, kept up to 12 months. Data is deleted within 90 days of a request, except what the law requires. More on the security page.

Common errors

Can Khanal Group see the rest of our drive?

No. Only its own files (Google Drive) or its own Apps folder (OneDrive).

"... was closed in Khanal ID, so its storage settings cannot be opened here. Files stay in your drive."

The files are safe in your drive. Write to hello@khanals.in if this is a mistake.

"... is suspended in Khanal ID: its storage settings are read-only ..."

Nothing was lost. Ask Khanal Group to reactivate the organisation.

Still stuck?

Email hello@khanals.in with the app name, what you clicked and the exact message you saw. Do not send passwords, PINs or authenticator codes. You can also use the contact page.
